While Christmas is often presented as a season of joy, celebration, and togetherness, we know that for many people it can be a challenging time of year. If you are dealing with the loss of someone close to you, facing loneliness, or simply finding the season emotionally difficult, please know that you are not alone.
Grief and loss can feel sharper during the holidays, when memories and traditions can bring both comfort and sadness. Loneliness, too, can feel more pronounced when the world seems to be celebrating around us. These feelings are valid, and it’s important to give yourself permission to experience them without judgement.
Whether you mark the season or not, please remember to look after yourself — take things at your own pace, reach out if you need support, and allow yourself moments of rest and gentleness.
If You’re Finding Things Difficult, there are organisations available throughout the festive period offering confidential, non-judgemental support:

Samaritans – 24/7 emotional support: 116 123 Cruse Bereavement Support For anyone coping with grief: 0808 808 1677
A small gesture — a message, a warm word, checking in on a colleague, neighbour, or friend — can make a meaningful difference.
Sometimes the people who seem to be coping well are the ones who most need a moment of care. Please let’s do what you can to make this time of year a little gentler for everyone.
