The Year of Connection

At its core, social value is about making a positive impact beyond the service we deliver.

At Glen, we’ve been reflecting on how our work not only benefits our clients but also contributes to the wider communities we serve—and the people we employ. As a people-first business, this matters deeply to us.

Over the past few years, our team has volunteered their time, supported local charities, and taken part in school and community projects. We’re committed to making a real difference in the areas that matter most—to our employees, our clients, and the communities we’re part of.

In 2025, we launched The Year of Connection to build on this commitment—and you can continue to follow these inspiring stories in the Connections section below.

In a more challenging and sensitive area, this month our Business Improvement Director, Kim Stevens, met with representatives from the New Futures Network to learn more about their important work.

The New Futures Network connects prisons with employers to support prison leavers in finding meaningful employment. While we recognise that many of our sites and vetting requirements may not currently be suitable, it’s worth noting that one in four people in the UK has a conviction.

That represents a significant number of individuals who hold valuable skills, experience, and the potential to make a positive contribution to society—if given a second chance, under the right circumstances and with appropriate checks in place.

This is very much an exploratory conversation, and we will keep you informed on how this progresses. Please rest assured, we would always seek your permission before moving forward with any initiative of this kind.
