Real Living Wage

The new Real Living Wage rates were announced on 23 October:
£13.45 per hour across the UK
£14.80 per hour in London
(as of October 2025)
These rates differ from the Government’s National Living Wage, which is a statutory minimum and now stands at £12.21 per hour.
According to the CIPD Labour Market Outlook (Summer 2024):
Over 15,000 employers are accredited
34% of employers pay the Real Living Wage
Accreditation is most common in manufacturing (41%), transport and storage (47%), and information and communication (42%)
The main motivation is ethical (44%), with other benefits including improved engagement, stronger brand reputation, and better recruitment outcomes
