Every day, individuals among us go above and beyond, making a significant difference in our workplace and community. We have been celebrating our Local Heroes for nearly four years, and each of these individuals exemplifies the values we stand for at Glen.
While our managers highlight the incredible efforts of our Local Heroes each month, we want to encourage every team member to get involved in 2025. We are delighted to continue receiving nominations!

Gwent Police Emergency Response Team
Kim Stevens expressed the following thanks.“This month, I am delighted to recognise our Gwent Police Emergency Response Team, comprising Gareth Jenkins, Paul Healey, and Derek Perring, under the leadership of their manager, Tony Williams, for their exceptional dedication and professionalism.
As first responders, this specialist team attends scenes following incidents that require a highly specific cleaning protocol after a crime scene investigation. Their role demands not only technical skill and precision but also sensitivity, discretion, and respect for the circumstances they encounter.
Working closely alongside Gwent Police, the team consistently demonstrates an outstanding ability to follow strict procedures while maintaining compassion and understanding toward everyone involved. Their calm professionalism in often challenging situations truly embodies the Glen Group values of care, commitment, and community service.
From all of us at Glen Group, we extend our heartfelt appreciation for the work they do in serving the communities of Gwent. We are proud to present Tony Williams and his team with this month’s Local Hero Award in recognition of their remarkable contribution and unwavering dedication.
Well done, Tony and team — a truly well-deserved recognition!”

Pirehill First School
Pirehill First School Head sent the following feedback: “ We just wanted to share with you how pleased we have been with Stephen and Loz cleaning in the school. Their commitment and dedication to their roles is why we haven't given notice to terminate the contract. We have thanked them for the contribution that they have made in improving the school’s environment, they have been over and above expectations. “
“We as Glen Group would also like to thank them for their hard work and support with a contract plagued with recruitment issues and absenteeism. Loz and Stephen have provided a consistent and high level of service to school whilst the issues around the site based team are being managed, massively supporting the relationship with our school. Thank you” Lucy.

Since her return, Ami has brought with her a vast wealth of knowledge and experience, and she is eager to share this with me and the rest of the team. Her contribution has already made a significant impact on the team’s structure and dynamics.
