Introduction of Simon Farmer, Head of Operations for Grounds Maintenance

Simon has been managing people, delivering bespoke specifications and creating fantastic client relationships for 34 years in this specialised grounds sector and was a supervisor on the Staffordshire County Council Grounds Maintenance county wide contract 30 years ago.

He joins the Glen family, as we enter an exciting time for the business with significant growth and a strategic move into a new sector.

Living 30 minutes from the Entrust contract estate, Simon has, during his successful career, worked with many high-profile Public-Sector organisations and bodies including:

Solihull Borough Council

Northampton Borough Council

West Berkshire County Council

Ministry of Defence

English Heritage

National Trust

Hampshire County Council (120 schools)

Successfully transferring an experienced team of 9 Ground Operatives and all of the associated contract infrastructure, has kept him busy and he is now entrenched in delivering service excellence to the portfolio of existing clients across the County of Staffordshire. Simon is looking forward to meeting everyone and continuing to successfully support and grow the portfolio.

As an award-winning Grounds Maintenance operations manager, with 5 Britain in Bloom 1st places, 2nd & 5th places in the prestigious Europe in Bloom and 20 Green Flag – Local Community & Ecological Parks Awards to his name so far, Simon has quickly “added value” to the new Entrust Grounds contract which started on 1st August 2023. This has included retaining existing business and winning additional new contracts with exciting new grounds clients.
