Changes to benefits 2026

Migration Notices are being sent out by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) as the Government continues moving claimants to Universal Credit.

Two benefits — Working Tax Credit and Child Tax Credit — have already ended, and four more will stop by March 2026:

  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)

  • Income Support

  • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)

  • Housing Benefit (except for those in supported or temporary accommodation)

The DWP states that to continue receiving financial support, claimants must apply for Universal Credit before the deadline in their letter.

We have shared this information with our teams to help ensure anyone affected can take the necessary steps.
